Bakri Eid

On October 15, Muslims in Gujarat and all around the world celebrate Bakri Id, or Eid-Al-Adha, in commemoration of Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son before God.  Celebrations include new clothes, ritual prayers and holy readings, family gatherings and special feasts. The main event is sacrificing a goat, sheep or camel, and praying for family. sacrificeGod says to His people, “For I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice, the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings” Hosea 6:6. Pray that there will be a vast multitude of Muslims in Gujarat who come to love and know God through Jesus Christ, and not through vain works and sacrifices.
