The Night of Power is considered the night in which the first revelations of Islam and the prophethood of Muhammed began. When celebrated now, it is a celebration of the beginning of the Quran. Many Muslims believe this is a night when Allah gives special heed to their requests. On this night many will be open to dreams and visions, hoping for revelation and guidance. Another belief is that angels will rain down blessings on all who remain awake on this night.
Act 2:17, 21 “…it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams;…And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Please pray today (August 3rd) for Muslims in Gujarat who are observing the Night of Power. Pray that God will speak to them through dreams, visions, angels, or through the actions of Believers. Pray that they will be open to what God wants them to hear and learn this night, and will turn to Jesus for salvation. Pray for Believers from Muslim background, that they will be bold in sharing with their family and friends.
