Chamar of Gujarat

The Chamar are among the largest untouchable people groups in India; untouchable because of their traditional occupation of tanning leather.  To be untouchable, according to Indian-Hindu tradition, is to be undesirable, or unworthy of any sort of consideration or provision by society. This translates into frequent joblessness, lack of education and lifelong poverty.                                                                                              Pray that the Chamar will learn that Jesus does not consider them untouchable or unworthy.  Pray that they will seek Him and find the total acceptance that only He offers.  Pray that Believers in Gujarat will remember the teachings of Jesus when they come in contact with the Chamar and will show them the love of Jesus.                                                          John 10:10  I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
