The Charan

The Charan are a Hindu people, part of the Gujarati cluster of people groups. Over 100,000 live in Gujarat. Historically, the Charan were attached to royal courts. Today they are simply poor laborers, mostly illiterate. As a people, they typically worship Satyanarayana, one of the avatars of the Hindu god Vishnu. Among the Charan there are no known followers of Jesus.
Please pray for ways for the Gospel to reach the Charan that will work around their illiteracy. Pray for God to call out to the Charan, to draw some of them to Him. Pray that when the first Charan believes in Jesus, he will take the news back to his people. Pray also for their physical needs and for their future.

Revelation 15:4 Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.”
