Ganesh Chaturthi

For most Hindus, much of September is dedicated to the
god Ganesh who, according to tradition, was born this time of year.  He is known as the
god of success, wisdom and prosperity, who protects you and removes obstacles from your life. During this time, elaborate idols are created, and families gather together to perform pujas (worship) in their homes, all in honor of Ganesh. Most Hindus celebrate Ganesh’s birthday for 10 days, this year the 9th-19th of September, in a festival called Ganesh Chaturthi.
Please pray for the people of Gujarat who put all their hope
and trust into idols.  Pray that during these 10 days, the hearts of the people who bow down to this idol will be open to the grace given by Jesus.

Hebrews 4:16  Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
