Akshaya Trithiya

Matthew 16:26 (Jesus said), “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?”

The Hindu religion places great importance on auspicious days, and Akshaya Trithiya is one of the 4 most auspicious days on the Hindu calendar. Akshaya literally means one that never diminishes, and the day is believed to bring good luck and success. It is believed that every second of the day is auspicious, and any venture on this day will prosper and continue well. The day is widely celebrated throughout India, irregardless of social standing or beliefs. It is particularly considered auspicious for buying long term assets like gold and silver, diamond and other precious stones, and real estate.
Pray for the people of Gujarat today as they celebrate an auspicious day and contemplate material gain. Pray that they will see the futility in trusting in the material things of this world. Pray that they will instead seek heavenly treasure on this day.
