Khordad Sal

Khordad Sal is the birth anniversary (or birthdate) of Zarathustra, also known as Zoroaster. Zoroastrians all over the world, and specifically the Parsis in India, spend the day in a great celebration. Parties are held, as are special prayers. Rangoli in the homes, vermilion spots on the forehead, new clothes, fragrant flowers and delicious meals, all form part of the rituals. Since the Parsi community is especially tight-knit, all come together for Khordad Sal. The festival is also viewed as an opportunity for the Parsis to review their lives and actions, and make resolutions for the future.
Pray that today, as Parsis are looking back at their lives, they will be aware of the emptiness in their lives that only Jesus can fill. Pray that they will see the futility in their own actions as they strive toward goodness. Pray that they will resolve this year to seek the Truth.
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
